Two-day exhibition and awareness programme under ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ campaign concludes

A two-day picture exhibition and public awareness programme organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Raipur, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting concluded at Government Digvijay Autonomous College, Rajnandgaon, on Tuesday.
Held on August 24 and 25 under the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – Sankalp’ campaign, the programme focused on educating young people about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging them to adopt a healthy lifestyle and channel their energy towards nation-building.

NCB Officer Highlights Need to Curb Drug Trafficking
On the second day, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Raipur Superintendent Anil Kumar delivered a presentation on drug trafficking, narcotics control and the harmful consequences of substance abuse.
He explained various aspects of the illegal drug trade and highlighted the role of young people in preventing drug abuse. He also informed students about the MANAS helpline number 1933, aimed at providing assistance related to drug de-addiction.
Students actively participated in the session and raised questions about drug abuse, narcotics trafficking, its consequences and preventive measures. Anil Kumar addressed their queries in detail and urged students to remain alert and stay away from addictive substances.

Students Showcase Talent Through Competitions
Essay and speech competitions were also organised during the two-day programme. Students expressed their views on topics including building a drug-free society, the role of youth and nation-building.
The competitions provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, awareness and understanding of the social challenges associated with drug abuse. Winners were presented with prizes, while students who participated actively received certificates of participation from the Central Bureau of Communication.
Youth Participation Marks Successful Conclusion

The concluding programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. Programme Officer Dr. S.R. Kanoje, officials and employees of the Social Welfare Department, representatives of the Brahma Kumaris Centre, faculty members, NSS volunteers and a large number of students were present.
The two-day programme sought to encourage young people to stay away from drugs and embrace healthy living, self-discipline and positive thinking. Participants were also encouraged to use their energy, talent and potential in a constructive manner and contribute actively to the development of the nation.
The organisers emphasised that creating a drug-free society requires not only enforcement against narcotics trafficking but also sustained awareness and active participation from young people, educational institutions, families and society.
