Solar Power Illuminates Homes in Arjuni; Rooftop Panels Installed in 47 Households

The implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has written a new chapter of success in Rajnandgaon district, with solar energy now illuminating nearly 47 homes in Arjuni village of Dongargaon development block.
As one approaches Arjuni village, rooftop solar panels visible from a distance stand as a symbol of growing public awareness and the increasing adoption of renewable energy. The impact of the efforts being undertaken under the guidance of Collector Jitendra Yadav for the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is becoming increasingly visible.
The long-term benefits of the scheme are also beginning to emerge. Meaningful efforts are being made to reduce household electricity bills through solar energy, while interest among farmers and villagers in installing rooftop solar panels continues to grow.
This growing interest has led to the widespread adoption of the scheme. Solar energy generated from the inexhaustible natural source of the sun is not only helping households bring their electricity bills down to zero, but is also enabling consumers to become energy producers by generating surplus electricity and earning additional income.
The use of modern technology to generate electricity from natural energy sources is also environmentally friendly.
So far, rooftop solar systems have been installed at the homes of 4,120 beneficiaries across Rajnandgaon district under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Sanjay Dhankar of Arjuni village said that his electricity bill had earlier ranged between ₹4,000 and ₹5,000. After learning about the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, he installed solar panels at his home.
“After installing the solar panel, my electricity bill has become zero. The subsidy amount has also been credited to my bank account,” he said. He appealed to people to install solar panels at their homes and gain relief from electricity bills. He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the scheme.
Another resident of Arjuni, Chandrashekhar Kaishik, said that he learnt about the scheme through a camp and was encouraged to install a 3-kilowatt solar panel system, which has been benefiting him.
Village Sarpanch Lalita Sahu said that a large number of villagers were benefiting from the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Bhavesh Sahu said that the scheme had resulted in a reduction in his electricity bill and helped generate savings.
Chandrakala Sonkar said that solar energy had brought significant benefits. She said that her electricity bill used to be high earlier, but after the installation of the solar panel, it had become zero.
She appealed to everyone to take advantage of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
