The PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme is playing a significant role in promoting clean and green energy while helping households reduce electricity expenses across Rajnandgaon district. Beneficiary Vidyasagar Sahu, a resident of Mokhla village, has installed a rooftop solar power system under the scheme, enabling his family to adopt renewable energy and benefit from future savings on electricity costs.
Mr. Vidyasagar Sahu said he applied under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme and successfully installed a rooftop solar system at his residence. The banking formalities for the project were completed through the Bharregaon branch of Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank.
Under the scheme, he has been sanctioned a subsidy of ₹78,000 from the Central Government and ₹30,000 from the State Government. He said the subsidy claim process has already been completed, and the financial assistance is expected to be credited to his bank account shortly.
Mr. Sahu stated that the rooftop solar system has been successfully commissioned and is currently functioning smoothly. Through the Mor Bijlee mobile application, he is able to monitor the electricity generated by the solar panels as well as the household’s daily power consumption.
