Three-day exhibition to highlight tribal traditions, rural life and folk arts through photography

With the objective of bringing Chhattisgarh’s vibrant folk culture, traditional dances and diverse folk art forms to a wider audience, a special photo exhibition is being organised with the support of the Culture Department, Government of Chhattisgarh. The exhibition will present an authentic and artistic portrayal of the state’s tribal, rural and folk traditions, strongly reflecting Chhattisgarh’s cultural identity.
The exhibition will be held from January 2 to January 4, 2026, at Kala Veethika, Mahant Ghasidas Complex, Ghadi Chowk, Raipur. It will remain open daily from 11 am to 7 pm. Entry to the exhibition will be completely free, allowing people from all sections of society to engage with this cultural event.

Through a curated collection of photographs, the exhibition will not only offer visual aesthetics but also convey the importance of preserving folk life, cultural diversity and traditional practices of Chhattisgarh. The primary aim is to connect the younger generation with their cultural roots, highlight the contributions of folk artists and artisans, and enhance public awareness about the state’s folk arts.
The event is expected to be of particular interest to art lovers, students, researchers, cultural scholars and the general public, serving as an important platform to understand, experience and appreciate Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage. The exhibition will feature photographic works by Dipendra Diwan, Akhilesh, Harsha, Dhaneshwar and Surya Diwan.
