As part of its ongoing effort to promote holistic health among schoolchildren, the Patanjali Yoga Committee, under the direction and guidance of the District Education Officer, conducted the 25th session of the “Yoga—The Art of Living” series at Maharani Laxmibai School, located opposite the Old Rest House.
The session was held after the morning prayer assembly, where students received inspirational guidance on how yoga strengthens the art of living. The instructors highlighted the significance of asanas, pranayama, and meditation, explaining their role in building physical strength, mental clarity, and emotional balance.

Students were introduced to the concept that “awareness and alertness are true light — this is meditation.” Through simple and relatable examples, the meaning of mindfulness was conveyed effectively. The chanting of the sacred syllable ‘Om’ was also practiced, with the trainers explaining its benefits for mental peace, concentration and the flow of positive energy.
Under the health awareness segment, children were educated about maintaining a balanced diet, correct water intake, and essential dos and don’ts before and after meals. They were encouraged to follow a disciplined daily routine, with the message that “life is simple— we make it complicated.”

Explaining the importance of energy in daily life, trainers compared it to electric current in wires, which remains unseen but performs every function. Similarly, they said, every action in the world is driven by energy — and when actions are good, the results are naturally positive.
The programme was conducted by Hemant Tiwari and Dilip Kumar Ram of the Patanjali Yoga Committee.
The event was attended by Principal Mrs. Poornima Shukla, along with R.K. Salame, R.C. Choudhary, L.R. Matra, Mrs. P. Mandavi, B. Gupta, Ms. K. Saw, Mrs. Chandrarekha Sahu, PTI Sareen, and the entire school staff.
