Newly Commissioned 33/11 kV Substation in Kanhardabri to Benefit Over 1,600 Rural Consumers

In a significant stride toward rural electrification, the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) has operationalized a state-of-the-art 33/11 kV substation in Kanhardabri village, located under the Musarakala Distribution Centre of Dongargarh subdivision.

Constructed at a total cost of ₹2.92 crore, the substation is a key initiative under the Chief Minister’s Power Infrastructure Development Scheme. The commissioning ceremony was led by Shri Shirish Selat, Executive Director, Rajnandgaon region, who officially energized the substation in the presence of several senior engineers and officials.

Also present at the event were Superintending Engineer Shri S. Kanwar, Executive Engineers Shri N.K. Sahu and Shri M.K. Sahu, Assistant Engineers Shri Dilip Soni and Shri Rajendra Sahu, and Junior Engineer Shri Kamlesh Sonwani, all of whom were instrumental in the execution of the project.

Equipped with a 3.15 MVA power transformer, the substation connects to three 11 kV feeders—Kanhardabri, Kasari, and Alivara—ensuring consistent and high-quality electricity distribution to eight villages: Bhanpuri, Alivara, Hardi, Kanhardabri, Kasari, Thekwa, Kolihapuri, and Tekahardi.

Speaking on the occasion, Executive Engineer Shri N.K. Sahu shared technical details of the project, noting the installation of 10 km of new 33 kV lines and 4 km of 11 kV lines. “With the commissioning of this substation, around 1,625 agricultural and rural consumers will now have access to stable and improved electricity,” he added.

This development marks a milestone in the government’s vision for inclusive growth and rural empowerment through reliable infrastructure. The substation is expected to boost agricultural productivity and improve the quality of life in the beneficiary villages.
