The district administration of Rajnandgaon welcomed its new head on Monday as IAS Jitendra Yadav formally assumed charge as Collector. The handover ceremony took place at the Collectorate in the presence of outgoing Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, who has been deputed to the Government of India as Joint Commissioner (Textiles).

After assuming charge, Collector Yadav met officers from various departments and familiarized himself with ongoing developmental projects and administrative priorities. During the brief interaction, he discussed the status of government schemes, infrastructure works, and upcoming initiatives in the district.

A 2019-batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service, Yadav is known for his disciplined approach and focus on grassroots governance. Officials expressed optimism that his leadership will bring new energy and efficiency to district administration.

Present on the occasion were Additional Collectors C.L. Markandeya and Prem Prakash Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, SDM Dongargarh M. Bhargav, SDM Rajnandgaon Gautam Chand Patil, SDM Dongargaon Shrikant Koram, and other senior officers.
