National Lok Adalat to Be Held on September 13 Across Rajnandgaon District

Pending Court Cases and Pre-Litigation Matters to Be Resolved Amicably

In line with the directives of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, the National Lok Adalat will be organized across the country on September 13, 2025. Under the guidance of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Rajnandgaon, the event will be held at the District Court Rajnandgaon, Subordinate Courts in Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Ambagarh Chowki, Chhuikhadan, and Revenue Courts.

The Lok Adalat aims to amicably settle pending cases and pre-litigation disputes in a cordial atmosphere. Rajnandgaon District and Sessions Judge, who also serves as Chairperson of the DLSA, has been holding meetings with judicial officers, departmental representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure maximum case disposal during the upcoming Lok Adalat.

Cases eligible for settlement include compoundable criminal matters, cheque bounce cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, motor accident claims, civil suits, bank recovery cases, execution petitions, electricity-related disputes, and family disputes. Additionally, recovery-related cases pending with banks, electricity boards, telecom departments, and municipal councils will also be addressed at the pre-litigation stage.

This year, a hybrid Lok Adalat will be held, allowing litigants and advocates to either attend physically in court or participate virtually through video conferencing. The DLSA has appealed to litigants to take maximum benefit of the Lok Adalat by presenting their compromise-eligible cases on the scheduled date, ensuring timely and hassle-free resolution.
