Chichola police trace a woman missing since July 2025 and reunite her with family after locating her in Jammu & Kashmir following sustained technical and field efforts.

Chichola police achieved a significant breakthrough by tracing a woman who had been missing for the past six months and safely reuniting her with her family after locating her in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. The successful recovery reflects a combination of technical expertise, sustained field efforts, and coordinated police action across states.
According to official records, Shiv Kumar Sahu, a resident of Chichola village, lodged a missing person complaint at Chichola outpost on July 22, 2025, stating that his wife, Usha Bai Sahu, had left home on the morning of July 18, 2025, around 11 am without informing anyone and did not return. Taking the matter seriously, police immediately registered a missing person case and initiated a search operation.
Chichola police informed senior अधिकारियों and issued district-level alerts, while photographs and physical descriptions of the missing woman were circulated to police stations and outposts across the region. Simultaneously, technical resources were deployed to track possible digital and location-based leads.
After months of continuous efforts, police confirmed that the woman’s location was in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Following this development, a special police team was constituted under the directions of Superintendent of Police Ms Ankita Sharma, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Pushpendra Nayak, and under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Dongargarh) Kesari Nandan Nayak.

The police team, along with family members, travelled to Srinagar and successfully traced Usha Bai Sahu at a residence in the Nigeen area, identified as the house of Farooq Khanna. She was recovered safely and found to be in normal physical and mental condition.
During preliminary questioning, the woman stated that no criminal offence had been committed against her and that she had not been subjected to any form of violence or coercion. After completing all legal and procedural formalities, she was formally handed over to her family through due process, bringing emotional relief to her relatives.
The family expressed gratitude to the police for their sustained efforts and commitment. Within the department, the operation has been appreciated as an example of responsible and citizen-centric policing.
Police officials said the successful recovery once again reflects the Chhattisgarh Police’s commitment to public safety, trust-building, and humanitarian responsibility.
