Minor Rape & Kidnapping Accused Arrested by Chikhli Police, Sent to Judicial Remand

Swift and coordinated action by Rajnandgaon Police leads to safe recovery of the minor and arrest of the 20-year-old accused.

In a serious case involving the kidnapping and rape of a minor girl, Chikhli Police acted swiftly and efficiently, arresting the accused and sending him to jail under judicial remand.

According to available information, on 29 November 2025, a woman lodged a complaint at Chikhli Outpost stating that her minor daughter had been lured away on the night of 28 November by an unknown person. Considering the gravity of the case, police immediately registered an offence under Section 137(2) BNSS and began investigation.


Special Police Team Formed for Sensitive Case

Given the sensitive nature of the incident, senior officers were informed without delay. Under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, guidance of Additional SP Rahul Dev Sharma, and supervision of CSP Pushpendra Nayak, a special police team was formed to trace the kidnapped minor.

The team conducted continuous search operations at bus stands, railway stations, and other likely locations. Their efforts paid off when the minor was located safely at Pandariya Bus Stand, District Kabirdham, in the custody of the accused.


Accused Arrested; POCSO Sections Added

Based on the victim’s statement, the involvement of the accused in rape was established. Additional sections 87, 64(2)(D) BNSS, and Sections 4 & 6 of the POCSO Act were added.

The accused has been identified as:
Dharmu Banjare, son of Dev Prasad Banjare,
Age: 20 years,
Resident of Baghmuda, PS Pandariya, District Kabirdham.

He was produced before the court and subsequently sent to judicial remand.
