The 8th Battalion of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF), Rajnandgaon, organized a mental wellness workshop on Wednesday under the ‘Spandan’ campaign, focusing on the psychological well-being of its personnel and their families. The session, titled “Rivayat: Your Subconscious Mind”, was designed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and introduce practical methods for maintaining emotional balance.
Presided over by Commandant Neha Pandey, the workshop witnessed the presence of Medical Officer Dr. Love Kumar Pandey, Deputy Commandant Smt. Ganga Upadhyay, Assistant Commandant B.L. Dhruv, and Assistant Commandant Rakesh Singh. The workshop was conducted by life coach and mental wellness expert Mr. Rohit Telang, who emphasized the significance of making mental health a primary responsibility in life.

Addressing the attendees, Mr. Telang highlighted the direct correlation between poor mental health and the onset of physical ailments. He advocated for the regular use of techniques such as meditation, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and self-hypnosis to manage modern-day stress effectively.
He elaborated on how seemingly minor everyday inconveniences—like sudden vehicle breakdowns, delays, or denied leaves—can escalate into emotional disturbances such as anger, anxiety, or even depression. These, he noted, are often intensified by unhealthy comparisons and rising expectations shaped by excessive use of mobile phones and social media.
The workshop delved into how unresolved past traumas and negative beliefs embedded in the subconscious mind can act as roadblocks to a fulfilling life. Using NLP, Telang explained, individuals can “rewire” their subconscious, replace harmful beliefs with positive ones, and improve personal as well as social relationships.

Participants were taught key NLP techniques and guided through practical exercises. Mr. Telang answered questions from attendees and offered personalized advice on mental health challenges. Commandant Neha Pandey also addressed the personnel, encouraging them to adopt a positive mindset and continue mental wellness practices regularly.
The event concluded with Assistant Commandant Rakesh Singh expressing gratitude to Mr. Telang and his team, including Govind Yannawar and Bhisham Paswan from Team Meta Mind. Mr. Telang was honored with a memento and certificate of appreciation for his valuable contribution.
The battalion announced plans to host similar workshops in the future to continually support the mental well-being of its personnel and their families.
