In a proactive step towards the execution of several government-approved public welfare schemes, Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav and Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure undertook an early morning city inspection along with officials from the municipal corporation, revenue, and allied departments.

The inspection focused on identifying appropriate government land parcels within municipal limits for proposed projects such as a Hockey Academy, Nalanda Complex, fully-equipped auditorium, and a wholesale market, among others. The delegation visited various sites, including land near the Energy Park, Kuj Vihar Colony adjacent to Krishna Kunj, and Mohara Bypass Road to assess feasibility based on availability and planning norms.
Speaking during the visit, Mayor Yadav emphasized that these projects aim to align with the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh to uplift civic amenities in Rajnandgaon. “Today’s site selection is a step towards fulfilling announcements made by the state government for public welfare,” he added.

Collector Dr. Bhure stressed that the selection of land should adhere strictly to project criteria and said, “All departments including revenue, urban administration, and municipal corporation must provide complete data, including maps and land records, for all vacant government lands within the municipal area to expedite the planning process.”
The team also visited the Mohara Water Treatment Plant, where they reviewed water storage levels in the adjoining river. Mayor Yadav informed that water is being sourced from the Mogra stream, now collected in the anicut, which can meet the city’s needs for nearly a month. Collector Bhure instructed officials to ensure adequate stock of essential materials at the plant and emphasized timely water supply through tankers to water-scarce areas.
The visit was attended by Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, Municipal President Topendra Singh Paras Verma, SDM Khem Lal Verma, Tehsildar Manish Verma, and other key members including councilors and engineers from various departments.
