Revenue department intensifies action against illegal mineral excavation following Collector’s directives

Acting on the directions of Collector Jitendra Yadav, strict action is continuously being undertaken against illegal mining and transportation of minerals in the district. In continuation of this drive, the revenue department carried out a major operation today at Motipur river ghat under Kumarda tehsil.
Illegal Mining Ramp Demolished
During the operation, the revenue department team demolished a ramp that had been illegally constructed for sand excavation at the river ghat. Authorities also cut off and completely blocked the access route leading to the ghat to prevent future illegal mining activities.
The action is part of ongoing efforts by the district administration to curb unauthorized extraction of natural resources and ensure compliance with mining regulations.
Two Vehicles Seized During Operation
Prior to demolishing the ramp, officials intercepted two Mazda vehicles that were illegally transporting sand from the Motipur river ghat. Both vehicles were seized along with the sand being transported.
The seized vehicles have been handed over to Dongargaon police station for further legal proceedings under relevant provisions.
Revenue Team Led Enforcement Drive
The operation was conducted in the presence of Tehsildar Vijay Kothari along with officials and staff of the revenue department, who played an active role in executing the enforcement action on the spot.
District authorities have reiterated that strict action will continue against illegal mining and transportation activities to protect natural resources and maintain lawful mining practices.
