Rajnandgaon (BTI), January 22, 2025 – Acting on the instructions of Collector and District Magistrate Mr. Sanjay Agrawal, a crackdown campaign is underway in the district against illegal liquor sellers and transporters. According to a government press release Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Mr. Yadunandan Rathore’s team carried out two big seprate actions yesterday night in the Dongargaon region of the district.
During a night raid conducted by the excise team at the house of Anil Yadav in the village of Peteshri, under the Dongargaon rural jurisdiction, a significant quantity of liquor manufactured in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh was seized and confiscated liquor included a total of 25.62 bulk liters of Goa Whisky, McDowell’s No. 1, and Kingfisher Beer, with a market value of ₹21,000. Mr. Rathore informed that the accused, Anil Yadav, was involved in smuggling liquor from Madhya Pradesh and selling it in the area. Additionally, a search of his premises revealed a large number of empty bottles scattered around, raising suspicions that he might have been adulterating liquor before selling it.

An offense was registered against the accused under the Excise Act, and he was arrested and presented in court. The operation was carried out by Excise Sub-Inspectors Mrs. Neha Singh and Mr. Rajkumar Kurre, along with Chief Constables Mr. Lalsingh Rajput, Milap Mandavi, Mr. Anil Sinha, Mr. Jeevan Nayak, Mr. Deepak Sinha, Mr. Dev Nirmalkar, and Mr. Kishori Komre.
Next to it the Excise Department seized 21 bottles (totaling 3.78 bulk liters) of Bombay Special Whisky, manufactured in Madhya Pradesh, from Sheikh Lal Sinha’s hotel in Village Mudpar under Dongargarh Police Station.

Rathore informed that continuous inspections of hotels, roadside eateries, and liquor shops are being conducted by the Excise Department to prevent the illegal sale of liquor. All excise circle officers have been instructed to conduct regular patrols in their respective areas and take strict action against illegal liquor sales. The crackdown against illegal liquor sellers will continue unabated.

The operation involved Excise Sub-Inspector of Dongargarh, Mr. Rajkumar Kurre; Chief Excise Constable, Mr. Lalsingh Rajput; and Excise Constables Mr. Bhojraj Banjare, Mr. Khemchand Mandavi, and Mr. Ashwini Shukla.”
