Police Crack Down on Two Resorts in Mangata; Action Taken Against Illegal Activities

Somni Police conduct surprise raid over illegal liquor consumption and DJ operations; resort operators booked under Excise Act

In a major enforcement action to maintain law and order, police conducted surprise raids at two resorts located in the Mangata area under Somni police station limits in Rajnandgaon district. The operation targeted alleged illegal activities, including unauthorized liquor consumption and continuous DJ operations.

The action was carried out as part of an ongoing campaign against anti-social activities in the region.


Action Taken Under Senior Police Supervision

The raid was conducted under the direction of Superintendent of Police अंकिता शर्मा, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police कीर्तन राठौर and supervision of City Superintendent of Police Alexander.

The police team was led by Somni Police Station In-charge उपेन्द्र कुमार शाह.


Surprise Raid at Two Resorts

Acting on repeated complaints regarding late-night DJ operations and liquor consumption, police conducted raids at Tricha Resort and Naira Resort located in Mangata.

During inspection, authorities found that visitors were allegedly being provided facilities for consuming liquor at the premises.

Police counselled the people present at the spot, informing them that legal action can also be initiated against individuals consuming alcohol in unauthorized locations.


Resort Operators Booked

Following the inspection, legal action was initiated against:

  • Chandrashekhar Yadav (24), resident of Bihavbod village under Ghumka police station limits – operator of Tricha Resort
  • Sohan Nirmalkar (30), resident of Mangata village under Somni police station – operator of Naira Resort

Both were booked under Section 36(C) of the Excise Act, along with preventive action under Sections 170/126 and 135(3) of BNSS.


Separate Arrest for Disturbing Peace

In a related operation under the campaign against anti-social elements, police also arrested Aditya Sahu (24), a resident of Tedesara village, for allegedly creating a disturbance with intent to disrupt public peace. Action was taken under Sections 170/126 and 135(3) of BNSS.


Accused Presented Before Court

All arrested individuals were produced before the Hon’ble SDM Court, Rajnandgaon. Police officials reiterated that strict action against unlawful and anti-social activities will continue to ensure peace and public safety in the area.
