The Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team etched their names in golden letters by lifting the Kabaddi World Cup 2025 trophy after a dominating performance in the final against arch-rivals Iran on Monday evening.

Displaying extraordinary grit, lightning-fast raids, and rock-solid defence, captain Priyanka Devi and her squad remained unbeaten throughout the six-nation tournament held in Punjab. In a nail-biting summit clash, India defeated Iran 42-29, with star raider Pooja Sharma alone contributing 14 raid points and earning the “Best Raider of the Tournament” award.“

This victory belongs to every girl who plays kabaddi on the streets and village grounds of India,” said an emotional Priyanka Devi while holding the glittering trophy. “We promised the nation we would bring the Cup home, and we kept our word.”
