In a momentous occasion that blends ancient faith with modern reverence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the grand flag-hoisting ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple tomorrow, November 25, 2025, at precisely 12 noon. The event, coinciding with the auspicious Vivah Panchami – the traditional day commemorating the divine wedding of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita – will see the Prime Minister raise a specially crafted 22-by-11-foot saffron flag atop the temple’s towering 161-foot main spire, symbolizing the fulfillment of a centuries-old spiritual dream and the official culmination of the temple’s construction.

The saffron emblem, meticulously hand-stitched by seven artisans over 25 days using aviation-grade parachute nylon and silk threads embroidered with gold, weighs between 2 to 3 kilograms and is designed to withstand winds up to 200 km/h. Mounted on a 42-foot pole with a 360-degree rotating mechanism on ball bearings, the flag proudly displays sacred symbols: the radiant Sun representing Lord Ram’s Suryavansh lineage, the eternal ‘Om’ for cosmic consciousness, and the Kovidar tree embodying the prosperity of Ram Rajya. PM Modi will activate its ascent with a ceremonial button press, a 10-second ritual that will echo across the nation as chants of “Jai Shri Ram” fill the air.

Preparations in the sacred city have reached a fever pitch. Ayodhya, already transformed into a beacon of heritage and modernity with enhanced connectivity, smart city initiatives, and solar-powered infrastructure, is adorned with flowers, lights, and saffron banners fluttering from every household.

A massive cleanliness drive has swept through streets and neighborhoods, while the route from Saket College to the temple’s Gate No. 11 – christened the Jagadguru Aadi Shankaracharya Gate – has been finalized with Special Protection Group (SPG) approval. Residents will line the Rampath corridor, showering flower petals from 12 elevated platforms amid cultural performances at seven key spots, including a two-day festival showcasing Vedic chants, folk dances, and conch shell processions led by saints and priests.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has invited over 6,000 dignitaries, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and seers from across India. A five-day Vedic ritual, commencing November 21, will precede the main event, conducted by 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi, and South India under the guidance of scholar Ganeshwar Shastri. PM Modi’s itinerary begins at 10 AM with a darshan of the Saptmandir – subsidiary shrines dedicated to Maharshi Vashishtha, Vishwamitra, Valmiki, and others – before the flag hoisting and a public address. The ceremony also honors the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who once meditated in Ayodhya, adding layers of interfaith harmony.

Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, described the moment as “historic,” noting that all core structures – including the Sheshavatar Temple, Sapta Mandapam, Pushkarni holy pond, and devotee facilities – stand complete. The temple complex, a masterpiece of North Indian Nagara architecture encircled by a South Indian-style 800-meter Parkota pathway, features 87 intricately carved Ramayana episodes on its walls and 79 bronze panels depicting Indian cultural motifs. “This is not merely the end of construction but the dawn of a new spiritual era for Bharat,” Mishra affirmed.

The event has ignited nationwide fervor, with households urged to hoist saffron flags and light five ghee diyas in solidarity. Devotees from across the globe are converging on Ayodhya, boosting tourism and underscoring the temple’s role as a global pilgrimage hub. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hailed it as a “giant leap forward,” blending Vedic philosophy with sustainable development to position Ayodhya as an inclusive, modern metropolis.

As the nation pauses in collective reverence tomorrow, this flag-hoisting will not just crown a architectural marvel but reaffirm the enduring spirit of unity, resilience, and devotion. In the words of the Ramayana, it heralds a Ram Rajya of harmony for generations to come. Jai Shri Ram!
