District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh performed the role of Chief Guest; preparations reviewed by Collector Dr. S.N. Bhure

The district administration on Wednesday morning conducted the final rehearsal for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations at Shaurya Parade Ground, Police Training School, Rajnandgaon.
District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh, serving as the chief guest for the rehearsal, hoisted the national flag and accepted the Guard of Honour. The event was attended by Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg.

During the inspection, Collector Dr. Bhure reviewed the arrangements for the August 15 celebrations, emphasizing seating plans for VIPs, elected representatives, government officials, family members of martyrs, media personnel, and the general public. He also instructed officials to ensure proper decoration, cleanliness, and parking facilities at the venue.
The parade, led by Parade Commander and City Superintendent of Police Vaishali Jain, with Sub-Inspector Rakesh Patel from Basantpur Police Station serving as Parade 2IC, featured 16 platoons. These included contingents from the JD 27 Battalion ITBP, 8th Battalion Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF), District Police Force, Police Training School platoon, PATS women’s platoon, Nagar Sena women’s platoon, and various NCC units from Digvijay College, Kamla College, State High School, Sarveshwari Das School, Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra School (Basantpur), as well as Scouts and Guides from Maharani Laxmi Bai School and State High School.
The rehearsal also showcased cultural performances by school students from Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi Swami Atmanand Excellent School (Rajnandgaon), Eklavya Model Residential School (Pendri), Gayatri Vidyapeeth, Yugantar Public School (Rajnandgaon), PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (Dongargarh), and Swami Atmanand Excellent School (Dongargaon). These performances included patriotic songs and dances celebrating India’s freedom and unity.

The program was attended by senior administrative and police officials including Additional Collectors C.L. Markandey and Prem Prakash Sharma, Additional SP Rahul Dev Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, and SDM Khem Lal Verma, among others.
With detailed preparations now in place, the district administration is set to host the Independence Day ceremony, promising a well-organized and vibrant celebration.
