A wave of enthusiasm and satisfaction is sweeping across the farming community in Rajnandgaon as paddy procurement for the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26 gathers pace. Farmers are arriving at procurement centers with their produce, expressing appreciation for the state government’s support price system and the improved arrangements made under the Krishak Unnati Yojana.

At the Rengakathera paddy procurement center, farmer Duleshwar Sahu from Khaprikala arrived to sell 217 bags of paddy belonging to his wife, Induwati, who owns four acres of farmland. Sahu shared that last year’s procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal brought him substantial earnings, which he used for agricultural investments and household needs. He also reported good yields from the gram, wheat, and lentil crops cultivated last year.

Sahu said the state’s support price policy has significantly increased farmers’ income, thereby strengthening them economically. He praised the arrangements at the Rengakathera procurement center, noting the availability of labourers, adequate gunny bags, and electronic weighing machines. “The weighing process, including the tare weight of gunny bags, is very convenient,” he added.

He also appreciated the government’s decision to procure paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal, with a limit of 21 quintals per acre. “We farmers are able to sell our paddy at the right price. The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is doing excellent work,” Sahu said, expressing his gratitude. He thanked the Chief Minister for providing a fair and beneficial support price to the state’s farmers.

Farmers across the district share a similar sentiment, stating that timely procurement and efficient arrangements have created a positive environment at procurement centers.
