In compliance with state government directives, Employment and Housing Day will now be organized on the 7th of every month in all gram panchayats across Rajnandgaon district to spread awareness about employment, housing, and livelihood-related welfare schemes. As part of this initiative, an Employment and Housing Day programme was successfully held in Harnasinghi village of Dongargarh block.
During the programme, beneficiaries approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) were informed about their sanctioned houses through a public reading of names. Officials provided detailed information regarding installment payments for house construction, wage payments under MGNREGA, availability of construction materials, and facilities offered through inter-departmental convergence. Beneficiaries were also given technical guidance to ensure timely and quality completion of housing units.

On the occasion of Employment Day, villagers were briefed about the “Viksit Bharat–Ji Ram Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural).” Keeping in view the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, the scheme aims to provide up to 125 days of employment guarantee to rural families. Priority will be given to works related to water conservation, irrigation, groundwater recharge, and watershed development, thereby creating employment while ensuring sustainable management of natural resources.
Officials also explained the use of modern technologies such as biometric authentication, mobile-based monitoring systems, and citizen participation platforms to strengthen transparency and accountability. These systems will help improve work monitoring, attendance verification, and payment processes.

Additionally, villagers were informed about the livelihood pond (Dabri) construction work in Gram Panchayat Harnasinghi. The initiative is expected to enhance rural income through fisheries and allied livelihood activities. At the conclusion of the programme, villagers were urged to actively participate in the Employment and Housing Day held every month on the 7th and contribute to the development works being undertaken at the gram panchayat level.
