Dongargarh Police Take Strict Action Against Youth for Breach of Peace

Accused Umesh Pandey arrested for creating disturbance, produced before SDM court

In a bid to maintain law and order and prevent criminal activities, Dongargarh Police continue to carry out intensive enforcement drives. As part of this ongoing effort, police have taken prompt and lawful action against a youth who allegedly attempted to disturb public peace in the city.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on December 29, 2025, at around 3:30 pm, near the old bus stand on Khairagarh Road, where Umesh Pandey was found creating a disturbance in a public place. Despite repeated warnings and attempts by local residents to calm him down, the accused reportedly became more aggressive, indulged in loud commotion and attempted to provoke a fight, even issuing threats of violence.

Considering the seriousness of the situation, the police immediately intervened and initiated action against the accused under Sections 170, 126 and 135(3) of the BNSS. He was subsequently arrested and produced before the honourable SDM court.

Details of the Arrested Accused

The arrested individual has been identified as Umesh Pandey, son of Madhav Pandey, aged 23 years, a resident of Danteshwari Para, Ward No. 02, Dongargarh, district Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh).

The action was taken under the directions of Superintendent of Police Ms. Ankita Sharma, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma, and under the supervision of SDOP Dongargarh Ashish Kunjam.

Continuous Patrolling and Checking Drives

To ensure peace and security in the Dongargarh police station area, regular patrolling, naka-bandi (checkpoints) and hotel-dhaba inspection drives are being conducted. Police are maintaining close surveillance on illegal and suspicious activities, and strict legal action is being taken against violators.

Dongargarh Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate in maintaining peace and order, and urged them to immediately inform the police about any anti-social or suspicious activities.
