Accused held with 34 pouches of country-made liquor and scooter during checking near Kohka village

Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police Ms Ankita Sharma, Dongargaon police have intensified their drive against illegal liquor across the region. As part of the ongoing campaign, police apprehended an आरोपी involved in illegal transportation of country-made liquor on January 12, 2026, near village Kohka.
According to police sources, the action was taken following a tip-off received from an informer. A police team conducted barricading and checking in the area and intercepted a two-wheeler carrying illicit liquor. The accused has been identified as Ashish Shende (30), a resident of Ward No. 11, Bodhitola, Dongargaon.

During the search, police recovered 34 pouches of country-made plain liquor amounting to 6.120 bulk litres, valued at approximately Rs 2,720. A Honda Activa scooter bearing registration number CG 08 BD 3394, worth around Rs 50,000, was also seized from the accused.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Inspector Ashirwad Rahatgaonkar, with significant contribution from Head Constable Brijmohan Yadav and Constable Jitesh Sahu.
Dongargaon police stated that strict and continuous action against the illegal liquor trade will remain in force to curb unlawful activities and maintain law and order in the area.
