The Congress party has launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing the central and Chhattisgarh state governments of using central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for political vendetta. The protest comes in response to the ED’s recent action of attaching Rajiv Bhavan, the Congress office in Sukma.
On June 14, members of the City, District, and Rural Congress Committees gathered at Manav Mandir Chowk in Rajnandgaon and held a protest rally. The demonstration culminated in the symbolic burning of effigies representing the BJP and the ED. Protesters shouted slogans against the central agency’s actions, which they claimed were politically motivated and aimed at defaming the Congress party.

Senior Congress leaders participating in the protest included former minister Dhanesh Patila, veteran leader Shrikishan Khandelwal, and City Congress President Kulbir Singh Chhabra. They were joined by a large number of party workers and local supporters.
District Rural Congress President Bhagwat Sahu addressed the gathering, stating, “The BJP government’s move is driven by political malice. We will not be intimidated by such tactics. Our fight for justice and democracy will continue.”
The protest was held under the directive of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President Deepak Baij, who condemned the ED’s actions and accused the agency of acting as a puppet of the ruling BJP.
The Congress party has vowed to continue its agitation if such “biased actions” by central agencies persist.
