The 69th National School Games 2026, organised by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and hosted by the Chhattisgarh School Education Department, has received positive feedback for its well-managed common mess facilities provided to players, coaches and supporting staff.
As per SGFI-prescribed norms, a standardised menu is being served to ensure balanced and nutritious meals for participating athletes. Coaches and team officials from various states have expressed satisfaction over the quality, hygiene and overall management of the food arrangements.

Narender Singh, a coach from Chandigarh, stated that both he and his players were completely satisfied with the meals being served. Echoing similar sentiments, Bilal Ahmad Bhatt, team manager from Jammu and Kashmir, said that he has been attending national-level school sports competitions for several years and that the hosting arrangements in Rajnandgaon have consistently been commendable. He particularly appreciated the quality of food provided at the common mess.
Deva, coach and team manager from Odisha, who is attending the national school games for the first time, described the accommodation, food and transport arrangements as “excellent” and well-organised.

Currently, 16 teams are availing meals at the centrally operated common mess, while out of the total 36 participating teams, 20 teams have made independent arrangements for their food.
The positive response from participants highlights the host administration’s commitment to maintaining national standards and providing a comfortable environment for young athletes competing at the prestigious national-level school sports event.
