District Collector Mrs. Tulika Prajapati on Saturday reviewed the progress of the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district and expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of implementation against the allotted targets. The review meeting was held at the district office conference hall and attended by officials of the Electricity Department, including the Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineers, and Junior Engineers.
During the meeting, the Collector emphasized that the scheme is a key public welfare initiative of the Central Government, aimed at providing direct benefits to common citizens through free electricity generated via rooftop solar plants. She stressed the need for speedy and effective ground-level execution to ensure maximum coverage.
Collector Prajapati instructed junior and assistant engineers to organize large-scale awareness camps to increase registrations and promote the installation of solar rooftop plants under the scheme. She directed that eligible beneficiaries must be informed in detail about the benefits of the scheme and encouraged to adopt solar energy. The Collector also issued strict instructions to complete beneficiary registration within one month.
Officials informed the meeting that beneficiaries have already selected vendors for the installation of solar plants. In response, the Collector directed the empanelled vendors to complete installation work at the earliest and warned that unnecessary delays will not be tolerated.

The meeting also reviewed pending bank loan cases related to the scheme. Collector Prajapati instructed bank officials to provide a detailed list of pending loan applications and to review rejected cases individually. She emphasized that loans for eligible beneficiaries should be approved promptly to avoid hindrance in scheme implementation.
The Collector further directed that the Electricity Department, banks, and other concerned departments must work in close coordination to ensure the effective implementation of the scheme, enabling a larger number of citizens in the district to benefit from the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
