Collector Directs Promotion of Crop Diversification Under Krishak Unnati Yojana

Farmers to Receive ₹15,000 Per Acre Assistance for Diversified Crops; Officials Asked to Organize Agriculture Chaupals Across Villages

Collector Jitendra Yadav chaired the weekly time-limit review meeting at the Collectorate conference hall on Monday and directed officials to actively promote crop diversification among farmers under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, which will be implemented from the Kharif 2026 season.

The Collector informed officials that the state government has decided to encourage farmers to shift from paddy cultivation to pulses, oilseeds, and other alternative crops. Under the scheme, farmers adopting crop diversification will receive an input assistance of ₹15,000 per acre. He instructed all departments to organize Agriculture Chaupals in every village to maximize farmer participation and awareness.

Yadav also emphasized promoting crops such as pulses, oilseeds, kodo millet, kutki millet, and other alternatives through schemes including PM-AASHA and related agricultural programs. He directed officials to ensure effective implementation of these initiatives to enhance farmers’ income and sustainable agricultural practices.

Collector Directs Promotion of Crop Diversification Under Krishak Unnati Yojana

Reviewing healthcare infrastructure, the Collector instructed officials to prioritize renovation and strengthening works at the District Hospital as announced by the Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. He also reviewed the status of e-KYC under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana and beneficiary coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

The Collector directed officials to ensure registration of eligible beneficiaries under the Labour Department so they can avail themselves of additional welfare benefits. Keeping malnutrition concerns in mind, he stressed the need to provide nutritious food to children and reviewed the progress of Anganwadi repair works across the district.

Appreciating the Social Welfare Department, Yadav commended the department’s team for successfully organizing a special program for persons with disabilities in collaboration with ALIMCO. He also conducted a detailed review of pending cases under the Weekly Time-Limit Program, PGN, PG Portal, and Jan Darshan.

The Collector urged officials to intensify public awareness efforts regarding the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, describing it as a significant initiative aimed at reducing household electricity expenses and promoting clean energy. He instructed departments to accelerate implementation-related activities.

During the meeting, he also reviewed land acquisition and compensation cases, progress under Sushasan Tihar 2026, CM Helpline complaints, and various state and central government schemes. The Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department was directed to ensure timely payments for completed works under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Additionally, the Assistant Commissioner of Tribal Development was instructed to conduct regular inspections of hostels and residential schools and ensure better living arrangements for students. District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh directed all departments to expedite disposal of pending cases received during Sushasan Tihar and encouraged officials to undergo proper training regarding CM Helpline operations.

The meeting was attended by Additional Collectors C.L. Markandey and Prem Prakash Sharma, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, SDM Dongargarh M. Bhargav, SDM Rajnandgaon Gautam Patil, SDM Dongargaon Shrikant Koram, and other district-level officials.
