The Seva Setu Portal, launched by the Chhattisgarh Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to strengthen good governance and expand digital public services, is emerging as a reliable platform for citizens by delivering government services in a simple, transparent and time-bound manner.

Marriage Certificate Delivered Without Multiple Office Visits

The experience of Durga Sidar, a resident of Sangitarai village in Raigarh development block of Raigarh district, reflects the growing impact of the initiative.

She required a marriage certificate to avail herself of various government welfare schemes and complete essential documentation. Earlier, obtaining such documents often involved repeated visits to government offices, resulting in considerable expenditure of both time and money.

Timely Service Brought Relief

Durga Sidar said that after learning about the Seva Setu Portal, she submitted her online application along with the required documents. Following the prescribed process, her marriage certificate was issued within a few days.

Receiving the document on time without having to make repeated visits to government offices provided her significant relief and made the entire process more convenient.

Multiple Citizen Services Available on a Single Platform

According to Durga Sidar, the Seva Setu Portal offers far more than marriage certificate services. Citizens can also access a wide range of government services through the portal, including income, caste and residence certificates, birth and death certificates, land record-related services, social security schemes, labour services, revenue services, urban administration services, and several other citizen-centric services from multiple government departments.

The portal has proved particularly beneficial for residents of rural and remote areas. Earlier, even minor administrative tasks required repeated visits to government offices. With Seva Setu, many essential public services are now available closer to home, reducing travel, saving time and enhancing transparency in service delivery while strengthening public confidence in government systems.

A Major Step Towards Digital Good Governance

Expressing her gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the state administration, Durga Sidar said that initiatives such as Seva Setu are making the lives of rural citizens easier by ensuring convenient access to government services.

She described the portal as an important step towards digital good governance, bringing public services closer to citizens in an efficient, accessible and transparent manner.
