Addressing the gathering, Minister Yadav said that Chhattisgarh has completed 25 years since its formation and has witnessed rapid development across sectors, with the most remarkable progress seen in the energy sector. He stated that since the creation of the state, CSPDCL has installed over eight lakh agricultural pumps across villages and expanded power supply to remote hamlets and habitations. Various types of submersible pumps have also been deployed to support irrigation. The minister added that extensive electrification of rural areas has illuminated citizens’ lives, strengthened agriculture, boosted industrial growth due to adequate power availability, and contributed to Chhattisgarh’s overall development.
Minister Yadav further announced that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Vishnu Deo Sai, a major energy hub will be established in New Raipur, aimed at transformer manufacturing and resolving multiple power-related issues. He said smart meters have been installed to improve consumer convenience, enabling easy digital payments.

Highlighting renewable energy initiatives, the minister said both the Centre and the State Government are promoting solar energy through the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme by providing subsidies for rooftop solar installations. He explained that installing solar panels can significantly reduce household electricity bills and urged citizens to avail maximum benefits from government schemes.
Executive Director Mr Shirish Selat presented a detailed overview of CSPDCL’s achievements since the formation of Chhattisgarh. The programme was attended by Mr M.D. Thakur, Mr Shiv Verma, several public representatives, power department officials and staff, and a large number of citizens.
