In a strategic outreach, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai departed for Japan on October 10 to attend the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, aiming to forge partnerships in high-growth sectors and attract foreign direct investment. Accompanied by industry delegates, Sai’s itinerary includes bilateral meets with Japanese firms in electronics and automobiles, leveraging Chhattisgarh’s mineral-rich corridors for joint ventures.
The state, already boasting Rs 7 lakh crore in domestic proposals since December 2024, targets an additional Rs 50,000 crore from Asia, particularly in food processing hubs around Raipur and Korba. Highlighting successes like the recent Mumbai Investor Connect yielding Rs 6,000 crore, Sai emphasized eco-tourism and dairy farming as low-hanging fruits for collaboration.

At the Expo’s Chhattisgarh pavilion, showcasing tribal crafts and Bastar steel, virtual B2B sessions will connect 200 local MSMEs. This visit follows a similar South Korea leg, underscoring the BJP-led government’s “Viksit Chhattisgarh” vision. Experts predict it could create 20,000 jobs, diversifying from mining dependency and aligning with national “Make in India” goals.
