Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Ms. Suruchi Singh, convened a meeting of the District-Level Committee in the Collectorate auditorium to review progress under the Gaudham Scheme.
Addressing the committee, CEO Ms. Suruchi Singh said that in the first phase of the scheme, Gaudhams will be established in rural areas located near major national highways. Only destitute, stray cattle and seized cattle will be relocated to these Gaudhams by the respective local bodies.

She informed that the primary objectives of the Gaudham Scheme include:
- Scientific conservation and promotion of stray cattle,
- Encouraging cow-based products,
- Developing fodder production programmes,
- Establishing Gaudham as a training centre,
- Promoting public participation in cow service,
- Improving cattle breeds, and
- Generating employment opportunities for local communities.
Present during the meeting were District-Level Committee Chairman (Non-Government) Shri Jeevanlal Janghel, Municipal Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma, Deputy Director of Agriculture Shri Tikam Singh Thakur, Deputy Director of Livestock Development Dr. Anup Chatterjee, officials of the Livestock Development Department, and non-government members from various development blocks.
