BJP to Celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti from April 14 to 25 at Booth Level Across the Nation

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the commencement of Ambedkar Jayanti Pakhwada from April 14 to April 25, aiming to honor the legacy of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar across every booth, mandal, and district in the country. The announcement was made during a special planning meeting, addressed by former Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey, who emphasized BJP’s commitment to ideological clarity, social justice, and grassroots outreach.

The event follows the party’s Sthapana Diwas Pakhwada held from April 6 to 14, and continues BJP’s tradition of engaging closely with the masses through structured and meaningful political programs.

Ambedkar Jayanti to Be Observed Through Outreach Initiatives

Pandey informed that during the pakhwada, BJP will organize various events including district-level seminars, community meetings in Scheduled Caste-dominated localities, and fruit distribution drives. Special efforts will be made to personally greet and engage with key community leaders from Scheduled Castes to foster social inclusion and harmony.

“These celebrations are not just ceremonial but a reaffirmation of our deep respect for Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of equality and constitutional values,” said Pandey. “Our party workers are trained to work tirelessly, even after electoral victories, to remain deeply rooted among the people.”

BJP’s Ideological Strength Highlighted

Pandey highlighted the ideological continuity from Bharatiya Jan Sangh to the modern BJP, arguing that it is this foundation that has enabled the party to grow into India’s largest political force.

“Unlike the socialist and communist models that collapsed under the weight of leadership-centric frameworks, BJP has flourished because of its strong policy structure and commitment to national service,” he noted. He also added that the Jan Sangh ideology will continue to guide the nation toward the goal of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

Critique of Congress and Emergency-Era Policies

In a pointed critique, Pandey referenced the Emergency imposed by the Congress party, alleging that it was a direct attack on India’s democratic fabric. He criticized the 42nd Amendment which added the terms “Secular” and “Socialist” to the Preamble, claiming it was a distortion of the original constitutional spirit.

“True secularism means respecting all faiths equally, but over time, it has been misused to weaken Sanatan Dharma,” he asserted.

Program Kick-Off and Dignitaries Honored

According to the BJP media cell, the meeting commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting in front of portraits of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, and Bharat Mata. District BJP President Komal Singh Rajput outlined the program plan for the April 6–25 period and emphasized community engagement as the party’s primary focus.

In a gesture of appreciation, the event also witnessed the felicitation of newly elected public representatives from various urban local bodies, including municipal corporations and panchayats. Special honors were extended to Neelu Sharma, who was recently appointed as the State Minister for Tourism, and Yogesh Dutt Mishra, Chairperson of the Labour Welfare Board.

As the BJP gears up to observe Ambedkar Jayanti at the booth level, the party reinforces its image as a cadre-based organization focused on outreach and ideological clarity.
