The Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation conducted its first general body meeting and budget session after the recent municipal elections, marking a significant moment for the newly elected civic leadership. In this session, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav presented the first municipal budget of his tenure, laying out a roadmap focused on inclusive development and urban transformation.

The session witnessed the presence of several key dignitaries, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Komal Singh Rajput, who attended the meeting and extended his heartfelt congratulations to Mayor Yadav, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Paras Verma, members of the Mayor-in-Council, and all elected corporators for their active participation in the city’s democratic process.

Rajput lauded the budget, describing it as “inclusive and future-focused,” and praised the efforts made by the civic body to steer Rajnandgaon towards a path of sustained development. “This budget reflects the aspirations of the citizens and the commitment of the administration. It’s a step forward in building a more developed and well-planned Rajnandgaon,” Rajput stated during his address.

An important highlight of the session was the unanimous passage of a resolution supporting the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal. The proposal, aimed at synchronizing Lok Sabha and state assembly elections, was welcomed by all present. Rajput called the resolution a “historic and necessary step in the national interest,” emphasizing the need for electoral reforms to streamline governance and reduce administrative expenditure.

Also in attendance were BJP Mandal Presidents Sumeet Singh Bhatia and Prashant Gupta (Golu), along with BJP Yuva Morcha President Prakhar Shrivastava, who expressed their full support for the development initiatives outlined in the budget.

With this budget session, the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation has set the tone for a new phase of governance, with clear priorities on infrastructure, civic amenities, and transparent administration. The participation and endorsement by senior party leaders like Komal Singh Rajput further underscore the political backing and direction that will shape the city’s future development trajectory.
