In a compassionate outreach following the tragic Bajrangpur-Navagaon violence, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh visited the affected families and assured them of government support.
Calling the incident “deeply unfortunate,” Dr. Singh noted that Rajnandgaon has long been recognized as a city of peace and harmony. He expressed grief over the deaths of three young men – Rajesh Dheemar, Sachin Das Manikpuri, and Kishan Rajput – who were killed in separate stabbing incidents allegedly linked to substance abuse.

Dr. Singh criticized the local police response, stating that stronger immediate action after the initial report could have prevented the escalation. He confirmed that the Station House Officer (SHO) responsible had been suspended, with instructions for strict action against all individuals involved to ensure such incidents are not repeated.
As part of relief measures, Dr. Singh announced ₹1 lakh financial assistance under the voluntary grant scheme for each of the victims’ families. He further declared a compassionate government appointment for Kishan Rajput’s family and directed officials to secure a job placement for the widow of Rajesh Dheemar.

To address security concerns, the Assembly Speaker announced the establishment of a new police outpost covering Navagaon to Chikhli, with approval already granted by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. He also instructed authorities to intensify anti-liquor campaigns, increase police patrolling, and install CCTV cameras in sensitive areas.
Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, Komal Singh Rajput, Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg, and other public representatives and officials accompanied Dr. Singh during the visit.
