A major and long-awaited infrastructure breakthrough has been achieved with the approval of an underpass and service lanes on National Highway-53 (NH-53), a move expected to transform traffic management and enhance public safety in Rajnandgaon. The decision is being hailed as a historic step towards making the city safer, more accessible, and largely free from traffic-related accidents.
The construction of the proposed underpass and service lanes on NH-53 is expected to significantly reduce road accidents by enabling the segregation of heavy vehicles and local traffic. This will ensure safer commuting for citizens, traders, students, and daily commuters, while also providing long-term relief from chronic traffic congestion that has plagued the highway stretch for years.
Beyond improving road safety, the project is anticipated to streamline traffic flow and give a fresh impetus to commercial and business activities in the region. Improved connectivity and smoother transport are likely to contribute positively to Rajnandgaon’s economic growth and urban development.
