Life-support aids to be distributed under CSR initiative to improve mobility, health and quality of life of the elderly

An identification and assessment camp was organised in Rajnandgaon to provide free life-support and assistive devices to eligible senior citizens, under a joint initiative of the Social Welfare Department and the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Jabalpur, through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support of the General Insurance Corporation of India.
As part of the programme, a dedicated camp for senior citizens of Rajnandgaon development block was held at the Gandhi Auditorium, Rajnandgaon. During the camp, ALIMCO’s technical team carried out detailed identification and assessment of eligible beneficiaries to ensure the appropriate assistive devices are provided as per individual needs.
Under this initiative, ALIMCO will distribute a wide range of assistive and life-support devices, including wheelchairs, wheelchair commodes, walkers, folding crutches, tetrapods, walking sticks, hearing aids, cervical collars, spinal supports, LS belts, foot care kits, polymer gel pads, Vani Face devices, stools with commode, and other supportive equipment.
In addition to the assessments, participants were also administered a pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, reinforcing the commitment towards a drug-free society.

The camp was attended by District Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav, Vice President Kiran Sahu, Janpad Panchayat Rajnandgaon President Pratima Chandrakar, along with public representatives Komal Singh Rajput, Paras Verma, Shiv Verma, Shaiki Bagga, Arvind Vaid, Harshdev Chaudhary, Ravi Sinha, Pappu Chandrakar and Rohit Chandrakar.
Senior officials present included Joint Collector Sheetal Bansal, Deputy Director Social Welfare Vaishali Mardwar, and Social Welfare Department officials Bal Krishna Baghel and Nanak Diwakar, besides members of ALIMCO’s technical team, sarpanch representatives, senior citizens, officials, staff and a large number of local residents.
The initiative aims to enhance mobility, independence and overall well-being of senior citizens, reflecting the government’s commitment towards inclusive social welfare.
