Serious technical shortcomings in the university’s online examination process have put the academic future of several students from Government Shivnath Science College and Kamla Devi Rathi Girls’ College at risk. Due to errors in the university portal, students who changed colleges mid-semester are unable to fill their examination forms, as their names continue to be linked with their previous institutions.

The issue has directly impacted dozens of students, leaving them on the verge of missing examinations for no fault of their own. The new colleges are unable to process their exam forms because the university database has not been updated to reflect the migration or transfer.

Taking serious note of the matter, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Friday submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor, Higher Education Department officials and the Higher Education Minister. The student body held the university’s technical and administrative lapses responsible and demanded immediate corrective measures.

In its memorandum, ABVP demanded that the university give priority to updating college transfer details on the portal without delay. It also urged that until the technical error is fully resolved, affected students should be allowed to fill examination forms on a temporary or special basis so that no student is deprived of appearing in the exams.

The organisation further suggested the establishment of a dedicated technical cell within the university, real-time data updates on the portal, greater transparency in the examination process and the appointment of nodal officers for each college to address such issues promptly.

ABVP Nagar Mantri Akshat Shrivastava said that forcing students to face technical hurdles during the examination period is deeply concerning. “The future of students is paramount. If the issue is not resolved in time, ABVP is prepared to launch an agitation,” he warned.

Nagar Sah-Mantri Bhupendra Pal said that despite the issue being purely technical, its consequences could affect an entire academic year for students. He urged the university administration to act without delay.

Several students from both colleges were present during the submission of the memorandum, including Nagar SFD Pramukh Kuldeep Pal and executive members Trilok, Vikas, Rahul, Rohan and others. All demanded swift intervention to safeguard students’ academic interests.

In conclusion, ABVP appealed to the university administration to ensure a prompt, effective and permanent solution in the larger interest of students.
