Collector Jitendra Yadav on Tuesday directed district officials to ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience while transporting paddy within the district. Chairing the weekly time-limit review meeting at the Collectorate conference hall, the Collector stressed the need for a sensitive and farmer-friendly approach during inspections.

He said that farmers cultivating land in more than one village should be allowed to transport their produce from one village to another, provided they carry valid documents such as land records (patta), procurement slips and paddy registration papers. Officials conducting checks were instructed to exercise caution and sensitivity so that genuine farmers are not harassed.

The Collector informed that paddy lifting has already commenced and delivery orders (DOs) for millers have started being issued. To ensure smooth lifting and transparency, district-level officers are being assigned duties for monitoring and physical verification. He directed all concerned departments to maintain continuous supervision over paddy procurement and lifting operations.
