In a historic moment for India’s fast-growing private space sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Skyroot Aerospace’s sprawling ‘Infinity Campus’ and unveil the country’s first privately developed orbital-class rocket ‘Vikram-I’ on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at 11 AM through video conferencing.

Located in Sriperumbudur near Hyderabad, the state-of-the-art Infinity Campus spans over 200,000 square feet and is designed as a complete end-to-end orbital launch vehicle factory. Once fully operational, the facility will have the capacity to design, integrate, test and manufacture one Vikram-series orbital rocket every month – a production rate that puts India firmly among the global leaders in commercial space launch capability.

The highlight of the event will be the grand unveiling of Vikram-I, Skyroot’s fully indigenous orbital launch vehicle capable of placing up to 300 kg satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) and sun-synchronous polar orbits (SSPO). Powered by a combination of solid and innovative 3D-printed liquid engines, Vikram-I has already completed multiple successful stage tests and is scheduled for its maiden orbital flight before March 2026.

Speaking ahead of the inauguration, Skyroot co-founder Pavan Chandana said, “Infinity Campus is not just a factory – it is the heartbeat of India’s orbital future. With Prime Minister Modi ji’s vision and the government’s bold space reforms, we are turning the dream of ‘Launch from India’ into everyday reality.

”Key highlights of Infinity Campus:World-class clean rooms and integration bays
Advanced propulsion test stands capable of testing engines up to 200 kN thrust
Carbon-composite and 3D-printing centres for rapid rocket manufacturing
Dedicated satellite integration and payload processing facility
Capacity to scale up to 20–30 orbital launches per year in the coming phases

The Prime Minister’s Office stated that the event symbolises India’s transformation from a space-faring nation to a global space power where private companies are leading orbital missions. “Skyroot’s achievement is a shining example of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Startup India in the most challenging frontier of technology,” the statement read.

Industry experts believe Vikram-I’s success will open the floodgates for Indian private players to capture a significant share of the $15-billion small-satellite launch market. Several domestic and international customers have already booked payload slots on Skyroot’s upcoming missions.

As India races towards becoming the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem in space technology, the inauguration of Infinity Campus on 27 November will mark another golden chapter written in the stars – entirely by young Indian minds and hands.
