Mayor Shri Madhusudan Yadav has extended heartfelt Diwali greetings to the citizens, celebrating the festival of lights deeply rooted in Indian culture. In his message, he wished for prosperity, health, success, peace, and affection in everyone’s lives, emphasizing that festivals like Diwali instill values that inspire humanity to pursue righteousness. Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi during this festival, he noted, brings wealth, prosperity, peace, and happiness.

Mayor Yadav called on citizens to celebrate Diwali, a festival that inspires progress toward enlightenment, with enthusiasm, unity, and brotherhood. He urged the public to prioritize cleanliness, not only within their homes but also in their surroundings, fostering a healthier environment. Highlighting the importance of supporting local economies, he appealed to citizens to use traditional decorative items and handmade products to promote local artisans and businesses. This initiative, he said, ensures that those engaged in traditional trades can also celebrate Diwali joyfully.

The public has responded enthusiastically to the Mayor’s call, finding his message meaningful and impactful. Citizens have shown a positive reaction, increasingly prioritizing swadeshi (indigenous) products, which is evident in their purchasing choices. This shift is fostering a sense of cultural pride and economic self-reliance. Observers note that this trend could have broader implications, especially in light of international trade dynamics. With tariffs and other global trade factors affecting India, promoting local products could strengthen the country’s import-export balance in the future. By boosting the domestic economy, this campaign is seen as a vital step toward maintaining India’s economic stability and self-sufficiency on the global stage.

Corporation President Shri Topendra Singh Paras Varma, Corporation Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma, Leader of Opposition Shri Santosh Pille, and members of the Mayor’s Council, including Shri Sawan Varma, Shri Sunil Sahu, Shri Rajesh Jain Ranu, Smt. Bina Dhruv, Shri Shainki Bagga, Shri Alok Shroti, Shri Raja Makhija, Smt. Varsha Sharad Sinha, Smt. Kevra Vijay Rai, and Shri Dileeshwar Prasad Sahu, along with Appeal Committee members Smt. Shruti Lokesh Jain, Shri Santosh Kumar Sahu, Smt. Mohni Bai, and Shri Sewak Ram Uike, as well as other councilors, echoed these sentiments. They extended their Diwali greetings and urged citizens to celebrate with immense joy, enthusiasm, and unity, praying for Goddess Lakshmi’s blessings to bring prosperity and happiness to all.
