The Chhattisgarh Under-19 Cricket Team displayed remarkable performance to defeat Himachal Pradesh by 74 runs in their second league match of the Vinoo Mankad One-Day Trophy 2025. Batting first, Chhattisgarh posted an impressive total of 278 runs, led by opener Aditya Sharma’s 82 and middle-order support from Rohit Sahu (54).

The team maintained a steady run rate despite losing early wickets, thanks to a crucial 90-run partnership for the fifth wicket. In reply, Himachal’s batting line-up struggled against disciplined bowling from Chhattisgarh pacers. Left-arm seamer Aarav Singh took 4 wickets for just 28 runs, while spinner Ritesh Pandey picked up 3 important wickets to wrap up the innings at 204 all out.

This victory marks Chhattisgarh’s second consecutive win in the tournament, keeping them among the top teams in their group. Coach Ramesh Tiwari praised the players for maintaining focus under pressure and said the win reflects the state’s growing cricketing strength. The BCCI-organized tournament is considered a key platform for identifying young talent for national-level camps.
