In a notable step towards strengthening educational infrastructure in remote tribal regions, Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey visited Kandadi, a village under Janpad Panchayat Manpur in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district, and performed the bhoomipujan (foundation stone laying ceremony) for a new building of the Government Higher Secondary School, Kandadi.
The ceremony began with traditional rituals and prayers, followed by MP Pandey initiating the construction with a symbolic spade turn. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the critical role of education in shaping the future of individuals and society. “Education is the foundation of progress. It imparts knowledge, skills, and understanding that empower students to succeed in life and contribute meaningfully to society,” said Pandey.
He further elaborated that schools are not only places of learning in academic subjects such as science, mathematics, history, and languages, but also play a vital role in developing essential life skills like reading, writing, critical thinking, communication, and leadership. “Educated youth are better equipped to make informed life decisions, pursue meaningful careers, and become self-reliant citizens,” he added.
The foundation laying event was presided over by Indrashah Mandavi, MLA from Mohla-Manpur, with Namrata Singh, President of District Panchayat, and Bhojesh Shah, Vice President of District Panchayat, attending as special guests. Other prominent attendees included Pushpa Bai Mandavi, President of Janpad Panchayat; Mangtu Ram Komre, Janpad Member; Madan Lal Sahu, former BJP District President; Prakash Mishra, BJP Mandal President; Kanchanmala Bhuarya, Aodhi Mandal President; village leaders Devsay Mandavi and Sukhendra Singh Bhuarya; along with District Education Officer Fatte Ram Kosaria, BEO A.R. Kaur, Principal-in-Charge N.R. Netam, and Village Sarpanch Pileshwari Bhuarya.
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of local villagers, signaling community support for improved educational access in the region.
