District Collector Forms Committee to Probe Dongargarh Ropeway Collapse; Report Expected Within 7 Days

In response to the recent mishap involving the collapse of a ropeway at the Maa Bamleshwari Temple complex in Dongargarh, District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure has swiftly initiated a technical investigation. A district-level committee has been formed specifically to delve into the engineering and operational aspects that might have led to the accident.

The investigation committee includes Executive Engineer Mr. N.K. Sahu from the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board, Dongargarh Division; Executive Engineer Mr. R.L. Gaikwad from the Public Works Department (Electrical and Mechanical), Durg; and Sub-Divisional Officer-in-Charge Mr. Panchram Thakur, also from the PWD Electrical and Mechanical Division, Durg.

The Collector has instructed the committee to conduct a thorough site inspection and complete a detailed technical evaluation of the incident. The findings and comprehensive investigation report are to be submitted within seven days.

The formation of this committee highlights the administration’s commitment to ensuring public safety, maintaining accountability, and preventing such tragic incidents in the future.

The meeting also reviewed progress on smart meter installation, feeder separation, transformer maintenance, and various state and central power schemes.
