In a significant step to tackle the water scarcity affecting parts of the city, especially during the scorching summer months, a Syntex water storage tank was installed in Ward No. 8, Motipur Ramnagar. The water supply from the tank was formally launched by Mayor Madhusudan Yadav following a religious ceremony attended by local residents and civic officials.

The installation comes as a response to the declining water level in the Shivnath River, which has disrupted the municipal water supply since March. Speaking at the inauguration, Mayor Yadav emphasized the administration’s commitment to ensuring continuous potable water delivery.

“Due to the lowering water level in the river, some difficulty is inevitable. However, we are making every possible effort to ensure an uninterrupted supply of drinking water through tankers and Syntex tanks wherever necessary,” said Yadav.

Also present at the event were Municipal Corporation President Mr. Topendra Singh, Public Works Department in-charge Mr. Sawan Verma, local councillor Mr. Manohar Yadav, and councillor Mr. Kamlesh Bandhe.

The Mayor explained that water from the Matiya-Moti reservoir is being drawn to maintain river levels, and if needed, water from the Mogra reservoir will also be used. Currently, water is being supplied three times every two days, and in low-pressure areas or places facing acute shortages, tankers and Syntex tanks are being deployed.

In addition to Ramnagar, Syntex tanks have also been installed in Lakholi near Durga Chowk Mangla Bhavan and Sheetla Mandir to serve local residents. More tanks will be added as per requirement.

Expressing gratitude, local women and councillor Manohar Yadav thanked the Mayor for addressing their long-standing problem. Mayor Yadav urged citizens to be mindful of water usage, avoid wastage, and collectively contribute towards overcoming the crisis.
