BJP Kisan Morcha district president calls for immediate crop-loss assessment and speedy settlement of eligible insurance claims

Heavy rainfall has caused significant damage to crops in several parts of Rajnandgaon district, with waterlogging in fields and crop losses leaving farmers facing financial difficulties, BJP Kisan Morcha district president Daduram Sonkar said.
Sonkar has urged the administration to take immediate steps for assessing crop losses and ensuring compensation for farmers affected by excessive rainfall.
Demand for Immediate Crop-Loss Survey
Sonkar said a prompt survey should be conducted in villages affected by excessive rainfall and that the actual extent of crop damage should be assessed so that eligible farmers can receive compensation as per applicable provisions.
He said the priority of the Kisan Morcha is to take farmers’ concerns to the administration and help them access relief and assistance available under government provisions.
Call for Faster Crop Insurance Settlements
Sonkar also called for necessary directions to concerned insurance companies to ensure that farmers do not face unnecessary difficulties in crop insurance matters.
He urged that eligible insurance claims be processed at the earliest and payments released without avoidable delays.
Farmers’ Overall Economic Situation Affected
According to Sonkar, the impact of excessive rainfall extends beyond crop losses, affecting the broader agricultural system and economic condition of farmers.
He said farmers need timely relief, crop insurance benefits and compensation available under provisions related to natural disasters and crop damage.
Kisan Morcha Says It Will Continue Raising Farmers’ Issues
Sonkar said the BJP Kisan Morcha would continue raising farmers’ concerns before the administration and, where required, take up problems in affected areas with officials for their resolution.
He said the organisation would continue to engage with the administration on the issue and raise the concerns of affected farmers at every level.
