Reflective Stickers on Pedestrians’ Bags for Safety

Rajnandgaon – With the Chaitra Navratri festival being celebrated from March 30, 2025, to April 6, 2025, thousands of devotees are heading to Maa Bamleshwari Temple in Dongargarh. To ensure pedestrian safety, the traffic police, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg and Additional Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma, have launched a proactive measure to prevent accidents.

Key Safety Measures Implemented

  • Reflective stickers are being placed on pedestrians’ backpacks, ensuring they are visible to vehicle drivers at night.
  • These stickers reflect light from approaching vehicles, significantly reducing the risk of accidents.
  • The Raipur-Nagpur National Highway has been partially reserved for pedestrians:
    • Anjora Bypass to Thakurtola Toll Plaza – Dedicated for foot travelers.
    • Thakurtola Toll Plaza to Ramdarbar – Separate lane allocation for pedestrian safety.
  • Traffic diversions have been implemented, allowing only two-wheelers on designated roads while diverting other vehicles to ensure smooth and safe movement.

Public Advisory by Traffic Police

The traffic police urge the general public to:

  • Avoid overspeeding, especially in high-footfall areas.
  • Strictly adhere to traffic rules to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
  • Be cautious on roads, especially during the night when visibility is low.

This initiative aims to prevent road accidents and ensure a safe pilgrimage experience for all devotees participating in the Navratri celebrations.
