Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has prioritized coordinated development between industries and labour welfare, producing visible results across economic and social sectors. State policies increasingly reflect the belief that workers are not merely economic contributors but the foundation of society whose stability, dignity, and security define true development.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Industry and Labour Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan, April 12 has been described as an opportunity to acknowledge his administrative leadership, commitment to public service, and contribution toward shaping a progressive and inclusive Chhattisgarh.
A Development Journey Beyond Policies and Announcements
As Chhattisgarh marks its Silver Jubilee year in 2026, the state’s development story goes beyond schemes and declarations. It reflects a governance model focused on inclusive growth involving workers, youth, entrepreneurs, and all sections of society.
Minister Dewangan’s role during this transformative phase has been described as significant, combining administrative efficiency with social sensitivity and long-term vision. Within just 25 years of statehood, Chhattisgarh has established a distinct identity in the industrial sector, supported by the New Industrial Policy (2024–2030), which emphasizes balanced and inclusive economic growth.

Empowering Workers Through Education and Social Security
One of the most impactful initiatives has been providing free education to children of labourers in reputed schools. The programme aims to create long-term social transformation by enabling future generations from worker families to access quality education and opportunities.
Meritorious students are also being awarded financial incentives worth lakhs of rupees, reinforcing the government’s emphasis on recognizing talent irrespective of socio-economic background. The initiative has strengthened confidence within labour communities while projecting the image of a new and aspirational Chhattisgarh.
Direct Benefit Transfers Strengthen Economic Security
Significant progress has also been reported in economic empowerment initiatives managed jointly by the Industry and Labour Departments. Over the past two years, hundreds of crores of rupees have been transferred directly into workers’ bank accounts, ensuring transparency and effective delivery of welfare schemes.
Thousands of labourers continue to benefit daily from initiatives such as housing assistance, accident relief support, and the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Shram Ann Yojana, which provides hot and nutritious meals at just ₹5 — a measure widely seen as reflecting a humane and welfare-oriented governance approach.
Industrial Expansion and Investment Growth
Under Dewangan’s leadership, Chhattisgarh has witnessed notable industrial progress. The Industrial Development Policy 2024–30 has attracted large investment proposals, encouraged establishment of new industries, and generated employment opportunities for thousands of youth.
Key initiatives include steps toward establishing the country’s first AI data centre in Nava Raipur, expanding investments in semiconductor and IT sectors, and implementing a forward-looking startup policy. These measures aim to transition the state from a traditional economy toward a modern technology-driven ecosystem.
Administrative reforms such as the e-tendering system and single-window clearance mechanism have enhanced transparency and simplified business procedures, strengthening investor confidence and positioning Chhattisgarh as an emerging investment destination.
Inclusive Development at the Core
The state government has also integrated social inclusion into its development model. Special incentives for women entrepreneurs, hostel facilities for working women, and industrial expansion in remote regions aim to ensure equitable distribution of growth benefits across society.
According to officials, inclusive development remains the cornerstone of sustainable progress, ensuring that economic expansion translates into tangible improvements in citizens’ lives.
Leadership Focused on Real Transformation
Industry and Labour Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan’s governance approach underscores that development must extend beyond statistics and translate into meaningful change for people. Guided by the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, coordinated action between industry growth and labour welfare continues to shape Chhattisgarh into a model state defined by progress, prosperity, and equal opportunity.
