The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has entrusted Neelu Sharma, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, with an important organisational responsibility for the upcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections scheduled in 2026. Sharma departed for West Bengal on Sunday to begin his assignment.
According to party sources, Sharma has been given charge of the Manbazar Assembly segment under the Purulia Lok Sabha constituency, where he will coordinate organisational strategy, booth management, and campaign planning.
Expressing gratitude to the party leadership for the trust reposed in him, Sharma said he would discharge his responsibilities with full dedication, commitment, and organisational coordination. He also affirmed that he would spare no effort in contributing to the party’s electoral victory in the state.

“The experience gained while working in different states will help strengthen the organisation in West Bengal as well,” he said.
Sharma has previously handled election-related organisational responsibilities in several states, including Bihar, Assam, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. Party insiders said his active strategic role and organisational abilities in earlier elections were key factors behind assigning him the new responsibility.
The BJP is focusing on strengthening its organisational network in West Bengal ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls, with leaders from multiple states being deployed to support campaign operations.
