The Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation has intensified its revenue recovery campaign ahead of the financial year-end, taking strict action against defaulters by sealing commercial establishments and disconnecting water supply connections in Rajnandgaon.
As part of the ongoing enforcement drive, seven shops constructed under the Chief Minister Swavalamban Scheme near the auditorium at Gaurav Path were sealed after shopkeepers failed to execute agreements and clear pending rent despite receiving notices. Officials stated that each shop had an outstanding amount of approximately ₹1.10 lakh.

In a separate action, eight water connections were disconnected in the Nandai area after taxpayers failed to deposit pending water tax dues amounting to nearly ₹1 lakh collectively. Authorities also issued final notices for attachment (property seizure) to major defaulters and warned that further strict action would follow in case of non-compliance.
With the financial year nearing completion, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav and Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma are personally monitoring the progress of revenue collection on a daily basis. They have directed officials to ensure that recovery targets are achieved and that large defaulters are persuaded to clear dues voluntarily to avoid punitive measures.
The enforcement operations are being carried out under the leadership of Revenue Officer Rajesh Tiwari, with municipal teams conducting field inspections, sealing shops, and disconnecting utilities where necessary.

Commissioner Vishwakarma said that the municipal body is committed to achieving 100 percent revenue collection against government targets. Notices have been issued to major defaulters, and in cases where payments are not made, actions such as shop sealing, water disconnection, and property attachment are being undertaken.
He appealed to taxpayers to deposit pending taxes and rent dues promptly to avoid penalties, surcharge, and enforcement action by the corporation. Officials emphasized that timely revenue collection is essential for maintaining civic services and executing development works across the city.
