Warns of action against negligent officials; calls for continuous monitoring of high-risk pregnancies and improved neonatal care

Collector Mr. Jitendra Yadav chaired a meeting of the District Health Committee at the Collectorate Conference Hall and directed officials to work with commitment and accountability to reduce maternal and child mortality in the district.
The Collector made it clear that negligence in health services will not be tolerated and instructed that strict action be taken against doctors, officers and staff found careless in their duties. He emphasized that every possible effort must be made to ensure that no maternal or neonatal deaths occur in the district.
He directed continuous monitoring of high-risk pregnant women and instructed health workers to ensure timely hospitalization when required. Through Mitanins (community health workers), he ordered regular ANC (antenatal care) check-ups, treatment, monitoring and proper counselling of pregnant women and their families to reduce infant mortality rates.
The Collector stressed the importance of awareness regarding necessary precautions during pregnancy, proper nutrition, weight gain, and prescribed medicines. He called for early identification and special care of low birth weight newborns from the initial stages. He also directed that after delivery, both mother and newborn must remain under medical supervision in government or private hospitals for at least three days.
Highlighting the need for sensitivity, he urged officials to assist needy individuals compassionately and ensure access to government health schemes. He instructed the Health and AYUSH departments to run coordinated campaigns promoting lifestyle changes to prevent diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

The Collector reviewed progress under various schemes and programs, including:
- Vector Borne Disease Control Programme
- Ayushman Arogya Mandir
- Ayushman Bharat
- Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card
- National Urban Health Mission
- Maternal and Child Health Programmes
- Immunization Programme
He also reviewed district health infrastructure across Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), Sub-Health Centres and Urban Primary Health Centres. Directions were issued for the speedy completion of under-construction health centres.
Additionally, he assessed the availability of 102 ambulances, human resources, Aadhaar-based attendance, ANC registration and testing, and implementation of QR code-based OPD services through ABHA kiosk centres. He instructed training for Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) to strengthen neonatal health services.
Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat, Ms. Suruchi Singh, emphasized the need for behavioral change and increased vigilance to reduce maternal mortality. The meeting was attended by Additional Collector Mr. Prem Prakash Sharma, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Netram Navratan, DPM Mr. Sandeep Tamrakar and other officials.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to improving healthcare indicators and ensuring quality medical services for all.
