MP Santosh Pandey Felicitates Athletes; District Panchayat Chairperson Kiran Vaishnav Highlights Discipline and Dedication in Sports

The 25th State-Level School Sports Competition 2025, organized by the School Education Department, concluded today at the International Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Rajnandgaon. The closing ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation of athletes, dignitaries, and sports lovers, marking a grand finale to the week-long sporting event.

Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey attended as the chief guest, while District Panchayat Chairperson Kiran Vaishnav presided over the function. Addressing the gathering, MP Pandey paid homage to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, recalling his performance in Rajnandgaon during his illustrious career. “Dhyan Chand dedicated himself so deeply to hockey that he became known as the ‘Wizard of Hockey.’ When athletes pursue any sport with such dedication, their talent shines on state, national, and even international platforms,” he said.

Pandey also emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proactive approach towards sports and athletes, noting India’s preparations to host the Olympic Games. “The future belongs to our young athletes. Many players from Rajnandgaon have already secured prestigious positions across the country. I wish all participants a bright future and hope they represent India with pride,” he added.

Discipline, Determination, and Success in Sports

In her presidential address, District Panchayat Chairperson Kiran Vaishnav lauded the discipline and dedication of participants. “Sports become enjoyable when played with discipline and adherence to rules. Success comes only through commitment, rules, discipline, and perseverance. The athletes have not only demonstrated their skills but also showcased sportsmanship in true spirit,” she remarked.

She further congratulated the winners and encouraged all participants to take leadership roles in every sphere of life.

Cultural Presentations and Dignitaries’ Presence

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, school students presented vibrant cultural programs, highlighting Chhattisgarh’s traditions and youthful energy.

The event was graced by several dignitaries including District Panchayat Vice Chairperson Kiran Sahu, former MLA Vinod Khandekar, former Rajgami Sampada Trust Chairperson Ramesh Patel, Sumit Singh Bhatia, Alok, Amrita Sinha, Firoz Ansari, Raghubir Singh, and District Education Officer Pravas Singh Baghel. Public representatives, officials, staff, athletes, and a large number of sports enthusiasts were also present.

The ceremony concluded with prize distribution, where outstanding performers were honored for their achievements. The 25th State-Level School Sports Competition not only celebrated the spirit of sports but also reinforced Rajnandgaon’s growing reputation as a hub of athletic talent in Chhattisgarh.
